BRITT JOHNSEN

Hi, I’m Britt. I created this site. I thought I would introduce myself so we can get to know each other a little better.

I’m from St. Cloud, a college town in Central Minnesota. My legal name is Brittan, but I go by Britt. I currently live in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, on Wahpekute and Očhéthi Šakówiŋ territories.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in English. I’ve worked as a professional writer and multidisciplinary creative for almost two decades. I’m very lucky to have found this work; I’ve gotten to meet some famous people and some infamous people, I’ve written about incredibly strong and unique people, I’ve gotten to write and learn about globally recognized businesses, and I’ve learned a lot about the world. I’ve won several awards, and that always makes me blush to say. I’ve even gone on TV once. My greatest hope is that I’ve helped and truly served communities and readers — because without them the world does not go ’round.

I have a million interests. Astrology is one of my greatest obsessions; I’ve been studying it since 2016. I also love Twin Cities coffee shops (the Pumpkin Spice Lawsuit is a must-try). I spend a ton of time cuddling my sweet cats that I can’t stop Instagramming. I also write poetry, I occasionally create zines, and I love a good crafternoon with my friends.
